Deepening connections between the mind, body, and spirit.

Visionary | Speaker | Organizational Effectiveness & Anti-Racism Consultant

A smiling man with a beard touches his face, wearing a colorful patterned sweater and a pendant necklace, in a room with framed art on the wall and a lamp in the background.

Whether leading a training or sitting with a client, Keanu is known for his clarity, compassion, and ability to create spaces where vulnerability, learning, and reflection can thrive. His work weaves together clinical insight, cultural analysis, and a deep reverence for the body as a site of wisdom and resistance.

In therapy, Keanu supports individuals and relationships in slowing down, tuning in, and healing through gentleness and self-awareness. In his public-facing work, he invites communities and institutions to reimagine what care, accountability, and belonging can look like in practice—not just in theory.

Beyond his professional commitments, Keanu is an avid lover of storytelling, cartoons, and slow mornings. You can often find him wandering through Brooklyn’s parks with a lavender latte in hand, dreaming up new ways to help people feel more grounded, more whole, and more at home—within themselves and in the world.

Keanu M. Jackson, LCSW (he/him) is a charismatic and deeply thoughtful queer, Black educator, facilitator, and psychotherapist based in Brooklyn, NY. He is the founder of Homebody Psychotherapy, a practice dedicated to helping people—especially queer and trans people of color—cultivate a sense of safety, self-trust, and connection in a world that often denies them those very things.

Raised in the historic town of Fort Pierce, Florida, Keanu’s commitment to liberation work was born out of a personal need to find spaces where he could feel seen, heard, and honored in his full humanity. That early search shaped his professional vision: to build spaces that affirm the complexity of people’s lived experiences while fostering healing, embodiment, and joy.

Keanu brings a breadth of experience to his work as a speaker, facilitator, and consultant, offering trainings, workshops, and presentations on:

  • Navigating trauma and collective grief in clinical and community settings

  • Decolonizing mental health care

  • Supporting the emotional wellbeing of queer and trans BIPOC communities

  • Centering anti-oppressive and trauma-informed practices in organizations

  • Building emotionally safe and accountable work cultures

Whether leading a training or sitting with a client, Keanu is known for his clarity, compassion, and ability to create spaces where vulnerability, learning, and reflection can thrive. His work weaves together clinical insight, cultural analysis, and a deep reverence for the body as a site of wisdom and resistance.

Facilitator was thoughtful, knowledgeable, affirming, and real. I love how he validated everyone’s responses, and was able to move the pace along between silence. I’d love to see him again to do another workshop for us.

You were so thoughtful, engaging, and affirming. You showing up authentically, not codeswitching, and sugarcoating things for the last three years was appreciated, and it lend to having a safe space to reflect and talk about the content presented with colleagues truthfully.
